Chronic Dev Team has just released a new version of greenpois0n which allows you to jailbreak Apple TV 2G. Greenpois0n RC6 now available for both Windows & Mac machines that untethers Apple TV 2G jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1.

WWDC 2011, iPhone 5, iOS 5 to be Released on June 5?

9to5mac claims that Setteb.it reports that Apple’s annual WWDC will likely be held on June 5-9th this year. The annual WWDC is marked by the typical ‘Corporate Meeting’ placeholder. 

WWDC is a conference held annually in California by Apple Inc. The conference is primarily used by Apple to showcase its new software and technologies for developers, as well as offering hands-on labs and feedback sessions. (Wikipedia)

In WWDC 2011, Apple may announce the much waited iPhone 5 and also iOS 5 GM may be introduced.

GreenPois0n RC6 Apple TV Untethered iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak Soon

Greenpois0n RC6 to jailbreak Apple TV. After the release of Greenpois0n RC5 untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1 now for both Mac OS X and Windows, here comes some good news about Apple TV 2G users. iPhone hacker pod2g has confirmed that Greenpois0n RC6 will be available soon to bring untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1 for Apple TV 2G.

iOS 4.3 Untethered Jailbreak on its Way

iOS 4.3 jailbreak on its way. iPhone hacker MuscleNerd, the brain of the iPhone Dev Team, hasconfirmed that they are concentrated  now on getting Monte mode to untether iOS 4.3 jailbreak when it goes public.

and now one goal is to get Monte to untether 4.3-final using 4.2.1 SHSH blobs (and future FW X->FW Y's, etc)

Not only that, the Monte mode won't require iOS 4.2b3 SHSH blobs anymore as their goal is to get Monte working with the current iOS 4.2.1 SHSH blobs. So you must tap on Make my life easier in Cydia so that it will be able to save iOS 4.2.1 SHSH blobs.

While MuscleNerd said that their goal is untethering iOS 4.3 jailbreak, that means they've already finished work on the unlock and it looks like they'll release it as soon as iOS 4.3 goes public by mid this month

7. start the Loader application (green icon on the SpringBoard), and follow instructions to install Cydia

Greenpois0n RC5 for Windows. P0sixninja, the iPhone hacker behind Greenpois0n jailbreak, has just announced on his twitter account that GreenPois0n RC5 for windows will be available tomorrow or the next day.

In case you don't know, GreenPois0n RC5 for Mac OS X was released yesterday bringing untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1 for all devices. You can use our guide posted here to to get untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1 without need of 4.2b3 SHSH blobs saved on Cydia.

Unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.1 / 1.59.00 Baseband after Greenpois0n RC5 [How to Guide]

The below step by step guide will allow you to update your iPhone 4 to iOS 4.2.1 with preserving 1.59.00 baseband, which means that you will be able to unlock your iPhone 4 with ultrasn0w 1.2. 

STEP 1: Download TinyUmbrella from here.

STEP 2: Open TinyUmbrella then click on "Start TSS Server"

STEP 3: Open iTunes.

STEP 4: Now, Click on "Restore" NOT "Update"

STEP 5: Now you will get "Error 1013" which means that your baseband has been preserved.

STEP 6: Exit iTunes.

STEP 7: Now you have to jailbreak your iPhone 4 with the Greenpois0n RC5, follow our guide POSTED HERE

STEP 8: Finally you can unlock your iPhone 4 running baseband 1.59.00 using Ultrasn0w 1.2, follow our guide posted here.

Greenpois0n RC5. Chronic Dev Team has finally announced the release of the long awaited GreenPois0n RC5. This tool brings untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak for all iOS devices. Besides you do not need to have '4.2b3' SHSH blobs saved in Cydia, unlike the Redsn0w 0.9.7. Keep in mind, the software is only available for Mac OS X. A Windows version will be coming very soon.

Follow the below guide for step by step instructions to convert your tethered jailbreak to untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1:

STEP 1: Your device must be on iOS 4.2.1, then download GreenPois0n RC5 for Mac OS X from here. [Mirror]

Geohot Untethered Jailbreak iOS 4.2.6 / 4.3 to Release on February 10?

Geohot jailbreak news leaked. MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team claims in a tweet that Geohot will release untethered jailbreak  along with Verizon iPhone 4's launch on February 10th.

@pod2g (for instance I think geohot will release his iboot-level untether for certain devices after 2/10/11, if there's a void)

In a reply to the iPhone hacker pod2g after the discovery of new untethered vulnerability, MuscleNerd thinks that Geohot will release his iboot-level untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.6, iOS 4.3.

GreenPois0n RC5 iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak Almost Complete for Release

GreenPois0n RC5 iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak is 98% complete as confirmed by theiPhonewiki’s Veeence. He has also updated that team is working out on last minor bugs related to smooth boot animations logo to release iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

Of course I meant 98% of the next release of greenpois0n is done. They’re fixing the last bug/glitches now, like smooth boot animations etc.

Yes, that’s right, the upcoming 4.2/4.3 kernel exploit allows animated bootlogo’s.

Justin Williams from the team has just posted a video showing jailbroken iPhone 4 booting with animatedcustom boot logos. GreenPois0n RC5 will untether jailbreak all idevices including iPhone 4. 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad with iOS 4.2.1 without SHSH blobs for iOS 4.2b3.

Apple planning iPad 2 and iOS 4.3 event next week

iPad 2 and iOS 4.3 Event. Few hours ago I informed you about a New York Times report which claims that iOS 4.3 may be released for public on February 13th just after the arrival of Verizon iPhone 4 by 3 days. MacNotes.de reporting that Apple is planning an event for next week to introduce the iPad 2.

The report speculates that Apple will announce a special iOS 4.3 media event to introduce in-app subscriptions, an announcement Apple vice president Eddy Cue revealed would be coming soon during yesterday's introduction of The Daily. The announcement of iPad 2 may come as a “One more thing” surprise at the end of that event.

Besides, John Gruber of Daring Fireball reports that  iOS 4.3 will be likely released in the next two weeks to provide support for in-app subscription payments for The Daily before the free two-week trial runs out. iOS 4.3 will also bring Personal Hot Spot feature to iOS devices.

iOS 4.3 public verison. Apple has seeded the third beta of iOS 4.3 yesterday and iOS 4.2.6 for Verizon iPhone 4 as well. By February 10th, Verizon iPhone 4 hits the doors brining iOS 4.2.6. 

David Pogue wrote in New York Times review of the Verizon iPhone 4, claims that the new Personal Hotspot feature would come to existing AT&T iPhone users on February 13. Just a minutes before, that phrase was deleted from the online review. Wait for that date as more comes. [AppleInsider]

GreenPois0n Untethered Jailbreak Stuck with iOS 4.3

Greenpois0n and iOS 4.3. It seems that GreenPois0n untethered jailbreak will be available very soon as announced by iPhone hacker pod2g, Apple has closed the loophole hackers have been using up until iOS 4.3.

The good point is that because of this (and the fact that Apple fixed the kernel exploit in 4.3), we’re all working back on releasing gp.

Verizon iPhone Running iOS 4.2.6!

The Verizon iPhone will be running iOS 4.2.6.
Apple today posted iOS 4.2.6 for the Verizon iPhone (iPhone3,3) to its site, preparing the way for users who will be receiving the phone in the next few weeks. The version checks in as Build 8E200.
The firmware weighs in a 652mb which is 28mb more than the iPhone 4 GSM’s latest release.  We are assuming that 4.3 is going to be ready pretty quickly after launch, with its hotspot features being one of the prime Verizon advantages over AT&T’s service.
