Jailbreak 5.0.1 / iOS 5.0 with Ac1dsn0w. Earlier we posted that Chronic Dev Team are striving to find an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. Today we have new jailbreak called Ac1dsn0w that able to jailbreak 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, 3G, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad 1. So let me show you full details about Ac1dsnow after the jump.

Ac1dSn0w is a new jailbreak tool, this new jailbreak tool has been developed by PwnDev team. Ac1dSn0w jailbreak can't jailbreak the latest iPhone 4S, iPad2 or untethered iOS 5. So what is the value added with such jailbreak ? this jailbreak is much easier than Redsn0w and Sn0wbreeze.

Ac1dSn0w jailbreak is still beta version and currently available only for Mac OS X users. It boots the device and also does a secure jailbreak of iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1. We hope that will be able to make untethered jailbreak in future
The current version of Ac1dSn0w is in an early development stage. In the future it will also be able to jailbreak remote devices. This means that you just need to install a server program on any OS (Linux, BSD, Windows) and Ac1dSn0w will jailbreak it on a client machine anywhere in the world.

Ac1dsn0w Supported Devices
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3GS

Awaiting future versions of this tool.

Hacker Make Siri Proxy Server To Add New Functionality [VIDEO]

The news about that Applidium could crack down Siri’s security protocol so that you can run it on any non-iPhone 4S device, even Android devices. The hack also lets developers to develop their own apps and contain Siri inside it.

A hacker created a proxy server for Siri and named it Siri Proxy (viaiPhoneHacks).
He says that the idea behind the proxy server is to make it easy for developers to add limitless functionality to Siri.

The hacker, known as plamoni on Twitter, released the source code of the Siri Proxy along with the instructions to set it up on the popular social coding site GitHub.
Additionally , he demonstrated a plugin he created with custom handles that allows him to control his thermostat from his iPhone. Commands such as ”What’s the status of the thermostat?”, “Set the thermostat to 68 degrees”, or even “What’s the inside temperature?” are showed in the video.

Interestingly, this hack doesn’t require jailbroken device:
I’m the creator of this particular hack, and I can assure you, it doesn’t require the iPhone to be jailbroken. My iPhone 4S is not jailbroken. The only action I needed to take on my iPhone was to install my fake Root CA. Which you can do without jailbreaking. Everything else is done outside of the phone, so it requires no jailbreaking or code to be placed on the phone itself.
The hacker mentioned that this won’t allow you to get Siri on other devices. It just allows you to add your own functions to Siri.

Siri Ported Successfully On iPhone 3GS [Video]

Well, here's some good news for those guys who are waiting for Siri to come on their iDevices, today the developerRyan Petrich announced on his Twitter account that he had successfully ported Siri on iPhone 3GS and posted a video showing Siri running perfectly on iPhone 3GS, watch it after the jump:

This hack comes courtesy of developer Steven-Troughton Smith and chpwn, who recently demonstrated Siri running on the iPhone 4 and until now we can't provide you with any ETA for it's public release and of course that's due to he illegal nature of the hackery, and the fact that it would take both piracy and an iPhone 4S jailbreak to release. So just keep yourself updated with any news...

iOS 5 Panorama Camera Mode Uncovered, New Jailbreak Tweak Coming To Enable The Feature

We’ve previously told you that the Panorama camera mode in iOS camera app was found inside iOS 5 betas’ code. Some hackers today were able to enable the panorama camera mode of the Camera app in iOS 5 by changing a key value in the iOS SDK.
The exposed panorama mode allows iPhone users to capture a panorama image by snapping photos continually from left to right. The screenshot below showing how the interface works on the iOS camera app.
A sample of an image taken with panorama mode:
The hack to enable panorama camera mode was found by Conrad Kramer and the developer claims (onTwitter) that he’ll be releasing a new tweak to allow everyone to get it. (update: the tweak coming outtomorrow).
Since the files are there on iOS 5 and the mode successfully enable, Apple will be surely releasing the feature soon. Jailbreak always makes things happen before Apple does.
